Have you ever seen Satan or any of his demons? Of course not. How are you going to wrestle with enemies that you cannot see? Only under the guidance of someone who can see them and knows how to defeat them. That would be God. The first and most important thing in this battle is submitting ourselves to Him. James 4:7: Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
Soon after I became saved I learned that the battle is the Lord*s and we are only the tools and the weapons in His mighty hand. Those are two of the most important and encouraging truths we can learn. I was greatly relieved to know that the battle was not just mine. Before I thought the battle was just mine. The battle is not just yours either but you must submit yourself to Him always and over and over. Otherwise you will lose. Faith submits to the Lord and unbelief does not. 1 John 5:4: For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. 1 Samuel 14:6: And Jonathan said to the young man that bare his armour, Come, and let us go over unto the garrison of these uncircumcised: it may be that the LORD will work for us: for there is no restraint to the LORD to save by many or by few.Zechariah 4:6: Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts. |
